It has now been seven weeks since the Plasma mainnet went live. In this period, we focused on strengthening the network, refining our operational processes, and establishing a solid foundation for the next phase of growth. Every improvement was made with long-term scalability and real-world utility in mind.

Engineering & Infrastructure Enhancements

Our primary engineering objective was to build a lean, maintainable and extensible core. To achieve this, the codebase was refactored into a hexagonal architecture, making it easier to extend, audit and contribute to. Testing and automation capabilities were expanded to enhance reliability at scale.

To reduce the risk of correlated failures, backend diversity was increased across multiple regions and providers. Additional optimizations included the implementation of data compression, improved snapshotting and syncing, and a complete rebuild of peer discovery to enable open access networking.

APIs enabling zero-fee USD₮ transfers were successfully shipped. Enhanced transparency dashboards went live, and the mainnet dashboard was further optimized for mobile use.

Plasma One — Building In-House for Maximum Efficiency

For Plasma One, we are building the payments backend and wallet architecture entirely in-house. This approach minimises fees while improving coverage, reliability and custody capabilities. The system is regionally modular and includes:

A unified KYC module for cards, virtual accounts, and on/off-ramps

A flexible card-issuing module integrated with multi-provider support

A high-performance core ledger architecture

On the compliance front, we acquired a VASP-licensed entity in Italy, opened an office in the Netherlands and strengthened our team by hiring senior compliance leadership.

Partnerships Built Around Real-World Utility

Our partnership strategy is centred around three key verticals:

Payment infrastructure

Exchanges and market makers

Decentralised finance (DeFi)

The objective is to connect Plasma with what businesses and individuals already use today, then make those connections significantly faster, more reliable and cost-efficient.

Organisational Optimisation for Speed & Clarity

Following the mainnet launch, we restructured the organisation to enhance execution velocity. The engineering department was divided into two specialised teams — one focused on the core chain and the other dedicated to Plasma One. This reduced context switching and improved delivery speed.

We also invested in process enhancement, documentation, key personnel decisions and onboarded an engineering lead to unify development of Plasma One.

Ready for the Next Stage of Growth

The work completed over the past two months has placed us in a far stronger position to move forward with greater momentum and clarity. By strengthening the core chain and securing the right partnerships, Plasma is positioned to become the most reliable network for large-scale stablecoin transfers.
