Behind the scenes, Linea runs on three essential components. The sequencer arranges transactions into blocks. The prover creates the cryptographic proof that confirms the state changes are correct. The bridge system handles the movement of assets and messages between Ethereum and Linea. The network is currently categorized as a Type 2 zkEVM and is working toward Type 1,meaning the long-term goal is full byte-for-byte alignment with Ethereum. Linea runs on fast block times, roughly one second today, with plans to push that even lower. According to public data, the network secures around nine hundred million dollars in value and is still marked in the early stage of maturity due to centralization and operational dependencies that must improve over time.

The LINEA token is designed to support growth across the ecosystem rather than act as a gas token. Fees are paid in ETH, and the token itself is used to reward builders, support community programs, and strengthen public-goods funding. The max supply is just over seventy-two billion tokens, with a notable majority dedicated to users and ecosystem development.A smaller portion is reserved for the project's treasury. One important design choice is that the supply avoids typical insider-heavy distributions. A deflationary element also exists because part of the ETH fees generated on Linea can be used to buy and burn the token, connecting token value to real network activity. My view: Linea feels like a project built for the long run.It has strong engineering roots, a realistic roadmap, and a growing community. While it still has to prove its durability,adoption, and long-term token value, the foundation is solid. I believe the network’s success will depend on how quickly it expands real usage, how effectively it decentralizes,and how well it keeps pace with a fast-moving Layer-2 ecosystem.
