U.S. and Japan Sign $490 Billion Investment Deal, SoftBank Leads with $25 Billion Investment
U.S. Commerce Secretary Raimondo officially finalized a $490 billion investment agreement in Japan. SoftBank pledged $25 billion, and established Japanese companies like Toshiba, Mitsubishi Electric, and TDK have all followed suit. Westinghouse is set to invest $100 billion in the nuclear reactor project, and GE Vernova, a subsidiary of General Electric, is also prepared to invest up to $100 billion in the energy sector.
This deal is essentially promoting Japan's investment efforts in the United States and perfectly wraps up Trump's visit to Tokyo. According to the trade framework established earlier this year, Trump lowered and restricted tariffs on Japanese goods, while Japan promised to provide $550 billion for U.S. projects.
The dinner will be held at the U.S. Embassy in Japan, with OpenAI co-founder Brockman and President Honda on the guest list. This level of economic binding, while not directly impacting the cryptocurrency market, will positively influence the sentiment of the entire risk asset market due to this macro-level flow of funds and confidence boost.
