Japan's Financial Services Agency is discussing regulatory revisions to allow banks to acquire and hold crypto assets such as Bitcoin for investment purposes.
Taking volatility risks into account, this will be accompanied by prudential regulation, and discussions will be held at the Financial System Council Working Group, which will convene soon.
