đ¨ Trump Threatens Mass Firings Amid Possible Government Shutdown
If Congress fails to pass a budget by Sept 30 at 11:59 PM, parts of the U.S. government will grind to a halt.
Historically, shutdowns have totaled 87 days â 35 of them during Trumpâs first term â so this is hardly new. But Trump 2.0 has been marked by unpredictable moves and orders frequently overturned by courts. Nobody knows what heâll do next.
Democrats appear ready for a showdown:
đš Chuck Schumer: âTrump has been firing federal workers since day oneânot to govern, but to scare. These unnecessary firings will either be overturned in court or the administration will end up rehiring them, just like today.â
đš Bobby Kogan (former OMB official): âEven setting aside legality, this would be enormous self-heal, needlessly stripping the country of talent and expertise. Itâs extortive â âgive us what we want or weâll hurt the country.ââ
đš Hakeem Jeffries: âWe will not be intimidated by your threat to engage in mass firings. Get lost.â#BinanceHODLerXPL #DogecoinETFProgress
