As virtual asset crimes become more complex and transnational, collaboration between public and private sectors remains vital. Reflecting this shared commitment, Binance CEO Richard Teng recently met with Chiu Shao-Chou, Deputy Commissioner of Taiwan’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) in Taipei to exchange insights on combating crime in the digital asset space.

Appreciation for Anti-crime Contributions

During the meeting, the CIB presented Binance with a commemorative badge in appreciation of significant and ongoing support in investigating and preventing illicit activities involving virtual assets. The two parties held in-depth discussions on strengthening enforcement capabilities through technology-driven collaboration and information sharing – critical in responding to the fast-evolving tactics used by cybercriminals.

Reflecting on the recognition, Binance CEO Richard Teng shared: "It’s a great honor for Binance to be recognized by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. This recognition further affirms our unwavering commitment to working with law enforcement agencies to combat illicit activities."

He also added: "We believe that a secure and trusted ecosystem can only be built through collective effort and strong partnerships. Binance remains committed to leading by example and working closely with key stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of trust and security across the industry."

This meeting follows a recent joint effort in which Binance assisted Taiwanese law enforcement by transferring over NT$26 million in illicit funds – tied to a criminal syndicate – to a wallet designated by local authorities. This case underscores the tangible impact of public-private partnerships in advancing effective crime prevention and recovery.
