Metaplanet Inc. (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 3350 / OTCQX: MTPLF), a publicly listed bitcoin treasury company based in Japan, has announced the acquisition of an additional 2,205 bitcoin, increasing its total holdings to 15,555 BTC.
The latest purchase was made at an average price of 15,640,253 yen per bitcoin (approximately $108k USD), amounting to a total investment of approximately 34.487 billion yen (about $238M USD).
This acquisition is part of Metaplanet’s ongoing Bitcoin Treasury Operations, which aim to enhance shareholder value. The company reported a BTC Yield of 95.6% for the period from January 1, 2025, to March 31, 2025, reflecting its strategic focus on bitcoin accumulation.
