Vitalik Buterin proposes gas limit cap with EIP-7983

#Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and researcher Toni Wahrstätter have co-authored EIP-7983, a proposal to introduce a protocol-level cap on gas usage per transaction. The proposed limit is set at 16.77 million gas (2^24). The goal is to reduce potential denial-of-service (DoS) attack vectors, enhance network stability, and offer more consistent transaction cost estimates. The proposal is currently in draft form and open for community feedback.
