Following the recent transfer of 30,000 bitcoin by a long-dormant whale from 2011, the same entity has now shuffled an additional 50,009 BTC across blocks 903974 and 903985.

On July 4, 2025, Bitcoin.com News detailed how this old-school whale had awakened to move bitcoin originally acquired in April and May 2011. At the time, the whale transferred 30,000 BTC, valued at more than $3 billion. Now, the same entity has relocated another trove—50,000 BTC—also sourced from May 4, 2011.

All eight of the transfers stemming from 2011 spent a total of 80,000 BTC between block heights 903916 to 903985.

Those transactions ended at block height 903985. The wallets involved are linked to an address that once funneled more than 3,000 BTC into the now-defunct Mt Gox exchange. Blockchain-tracking tool btcparser.com flagged the activity, showing the whale has now shifted a total of 80,009 BTC worth roughly $8.6 billion on the fourth of July.
