According to Blockaid, their system detected in real time a malicious transaction draining $2 million from VenusProtocol and other tokens. The exploit leverages an “arbitrary function call flow” vulnerability in a smart contract (address: 0xb5cb...a87), allowing attackers to execute unauthorized code.
Blockaid’s detection system combines AI and blockchain data analysis, and is now integrated into major wallets and dApps. VenusProtocol officials clarified that no direct hack occurred, and that the suspicious transfers were limited to external wallets, aligning with FTC’s February 2025 warning about crypto scams exploiting blockchain transparency.
