According to Foresight News, Polygon co-founder Jordi Baylina and the team behind Polygon zkEVM have transitioned into an independent company named Zisk. This new venture will focus on developing low-latency, open-source zkVM proof technology. Blockchain verifiers are used to validate transactions or on-chain data without revealing underlying information. Information from Zisk's website indicates that the project was incubated within Polygon Labs in May 2024 and became independent on June 13.
Previously, the Polygon Foundation underwent a leadership restructuring, with co-founder Sandeep Nailwal assuming the role of CEO. Nailwal outlined plans to phase out the zkEVM chain and redirect resources towards Polygon PoS and the Agglayer cross-chain aggregator.
