Orange Cap Games, a crypto gaming startup that reportedly secured funding from the CEO of LayerZero and other known people, the firm has recently acquired the intellectual property of Moonbirds from Yuga Labs.

Moonbirds are an Ethereum-based non-fungible token collection that was launched at the end of Q1 2022. According to the article on Orange Cap Games X account, it has acquired Moonbirds, Mythics, and Oddities from Yuga Labs.

In an X post dated May 30, 2025, Greg Solano, the co-founder of Yuga Labs, said, “ Moonbirds has been acquired by Orange Cap Games,” adding, “Spencer and the team at Orange Cap Games are among the smartest, most detail-oriented builders in consumer crypto.”

The post further reads, “ They put love, genuine craft, and a fair bit of neurotic perfectionism in everything they touch (ask Spencer to tell you about him flying to Asia to make sure the printer got the gloss just right for the holos in their trading card game). They created an incredible trading card game, with real physical distribution and a scalable digital platform, and it’s got a great mix of casual and hardcore fans. And they’ve done it all without owning their own NFT IP. That changes today with their acquisition of the Moonbirds IP.”

However, the financial details related to the acquisition aren’t revealed in the public domain, and there are speculations that the deal is worth millions of dollars.
