A proposed integration of xAI’s Grok AI into Telegram applications has hit a snag, with Elon Musk publicly denying any formal agreement just hours after Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced a one-year partnership.

Durov had initially posted that Grok would roll out across all Telegram apps this summer, a move he claimed would enhance the platform’s financial standing and bring AI capabilities to its billion-plus users. The news initially sent Toncoin (TON), closely tied to Telegram’s blockchain ecosystem, surging over 10% to $3.45.

However, at 22:29 UTC, Musk directly refuted the claim on X, stating, “No deal has been signed.” This swift denial triggered a sharp reversal in TON’s price, which quickly dropped from $3.45 to $3.27 within 30 minutes, though it remains up 8% on the day.

The conflicting messages have left investors unsettled, raising concerns about communication and credibility between the two tech leaders. Neither Telegram nor xAI has offered further clarification.
