Pakistan is working on making its presence worldwide in digital innovation as the government has set its aim to transform the country into a global leader. Keeping this purpose in view, 2000 MW of electricity has been allocated by the government of Pakistan for powering AI data centres and Bitcoin ($BTC) mining.
Pakistan Government Starts Initial Phase of National Initiative
Pakistan has already decided to shift its focus on the world of crypto and blockchain as it established the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) for the regulation of crypto assets in the month of March. The government plans to attract investments from across the world and for that purpose, it intends to legalize digital currencies. Bilal Bin Saqib was selected as the Chief Adviser of the council by the federal government.
After establishing the Pakistan Crypto Council in the month of March, the government of Pakistan has started its initial phase of the national initiative concerning crypto and blockchain technology. Pakistan now wants to power Artificial Intelligence data centers along with BTC mining as it has allocated 2k MW of Electricity for this purpose.
Government Wants to Make Pakistan a Global Hub For Data Centres
This allocation of 2k MW of electricity by the government of Pakistan is being considered a crucial step according to Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Finance Minister of Pakistan in regards to Pakistan’s focus on the journey of transforming into the digital world. Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) will unlock international investment, innovation, and bring revenue to the country from across the world.
As per the official statement by the government of Pakistan, both economically and geographically, the country is positioned correctly for the purpose of becoming global digital hub for AI data centres. Digital infrastructure and data flow can be successfully executed in Pakistan as it is serving as a digital bridge between major continents such as Europe, the Middle East, and the continent of Asia.
