According to Foresight News, Australia's anti-money laundering regulatory body has taken action against 13 remittance service providers and cryptocurrency trading platforms. Additionally, over 50 companies are under investigation for potential compliance issues. Brendan Thomas, CEO of the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), stated on February 17 that the regulator refused to renew the registration of six providers. This decision was due to key personnel being convicted, prosecuted, or charged with serious offenses, which adversely affected their honesty or integrity.
