According to Foresight News, Cointelegraph reports that SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce expressed concerns about the timing of the SEC's cryptocurrency regulation agenda. During a virtual speech at a Federalist Society panel, Peirce stated that it is "premature" to set a regulatory agenda for cryptocurrencies without a Senate-approved chairperson. Currently, Mark Uyeda is serving as the acting chair, but the Senate is expected to vote soon on the nomination of former SEC Commissioner Paul Atkins for the chair position.

Peirce praised acting chair Mark Uyeda for his effective leadership, noting that the agenda has been progressing and work has continued uninterrupted. She mentioned that if Paul Atkins is confirmed as chair, he is expected to assume the role promptly and begin setting the agenda. Peirce added that the SEC is "trying to figure out" the path forward in establishing rules for digital assets.
