In Vietnam, partnerships with universities like Phenikaa University allow us to reach students early — giving them exposure to TON development tools, on-chain assets, and Telegram-native applications. These sessions not only teach blockchain fundamentals but also show how TON integrates seamlessly into products people already use daily. This approach creates the foundation for a new generation of TON-native developers.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, our strategy focuses on tapping into grassroots developer communities and tech meetups. By working with existing builder groups and KOLs, we bring TON’s global ecosystem closer to local innovators — helping them understand not just how to build, but also why TON’s Telegram-based ecosystem offers a more frictionless path to mass adoption.

You’ve organized several programs like Dev Houses, Builders Calls, and IdeaTON. Which of these have had the biggest impact on developers so far?
Among all the initiatives we’ve organized, TON Dev Houses have had the strongest and most immediate impact on developers so far. These full-day, hands-on builder events go beyond presentations — they create an environment where participants can learn, build, and deploy directly on TON.
During sessions like the TON Dev House at ETH Global Delhi, developers not only explored TON’s core architecture but also experienced TOLK, TON’s TypeScript-like language, through live coding and technical workshops. This practical, guided approach made TON accessible even to first-time builders. The result was clear: over 90+ new developers joined the TON community, with many showing genuine interest in continuing development on TON. Feedback showed that the structured, interactive format and approachable technical depth made these events far more memorable than typical blockchain side events.
At the same time, recurring online initiatives like Builders Calls have played a vital role in retaining engagement and supporting ongoing projects. These calls allow teams to share progress, ask technical questions, and receive feedback from the Hub and other ecosystem builders. It’s become a space for collaboration and mutual learning — bridging the gap between hackathon enthusiasm and real project execution.
Meanwhile, IdeaTON has served as a great entry point for new founders and early-stage teams. By allowing participants to pitch creative ideas and receive direct feedback from the Hub and mentors, it helps transform raw concepts into actionable projects. Many promising teams that started through IdeaTON later went on to participate in Builders Calls or Dev Houses — creating a full-circle builder journey.
In short, Dev Houses create the spark, IdeaTON nurtures ideas, and Builders Calls sustain momentum. Together, they’ve built a structured pathway for developers in SEA — from first contact with TON technology to becoming active contributors in the ecosystem.
How do you collaborate with universities, developer clubs, and ecosystem partners to bring new builders into TON?
Collaboration with universities, developer clubs, and ecosystem partners is at the heart of how TON SSEA Hub expands its builder base across the region. Our approach focuses on education, hands-on experience, and long-term engagement, ensuring that every partnership leads to meaningful developer onboarding — not just one-time exposure.
In Vietnam, for instance, we’ve partnered with Phenikaa University to run on-campus sessions introducing blockchain fundamentals, TON architecture, and Telegram-native development. These workshops combine theory with live coding demos, allowing students to explore TON tools like TOLK and understand how to build directly for Telegram. The feedback has been outstanding — many students expressed that TON’s simplicity and real-world usability made it one of the most approachable ecosystems they’ve encountered. This model is now being replicated across other universities to seed a new generation of TON-ready developers.
In Malaysia, collaboration with the APU Blockchain Club (APUBCC) has been a major gateway to university talent. Through talks, workshops, and joint events, we’ve built a strong pipeline for student developers eager to enter Web3. These partnerships not only raise awareness but also create pathways for students to join programs like IdeaTON or TON Builders Calls, where they can refine and grow their ideas into real projects.
We also work closely with ecosystem partners — including dev communities like HackCBS in India, Bitskwela in the Philippines, and various incubators and VCs across Southeast Asia — to amplify reach and provide local mentorship. These collaborations help TON gain access to curated developer bases and offer co-branded events that align with community needs.
Every partnership is built with the goal of turning learning into building. Whether through university bootcamps, co-hosted hackathons, or joint workshops, we make sure developers not only understand TON’s technology but also see how to apply it immediately. By working hand-in-hand with educators, communities, and ecosystem enablers, the Hub is steadily building a sustainable developer pipeline that connects local talent to global TON opportunities.

Through programs like TON Dev Houses, IdeaTON, and Builders Calls, we introduce developers to TON’s Mini App framework, Wallet integration, and TON Connect — showing them how these tools can help create frictionless user journeys. During ETH Global Delhi’s TON Dev House, for example, several developers were surprised by how quickly they could prototype Telegram-native products without needing deep blockchain experience.
In markets like Vietnam, India, and Indonesia, where Telegram already has tens of millions of active users, this native integration becomes a natural channel for mass onboarding. The Hub works closely with local builder teams to help them design user flows that feel as simple as using any Telegram feature — whether it’s sending tokens, minting NFTs, or interacting with decentralized apps.
We’re also collaborating with ecosystem partners and KOLs to showcase successful use cases, such as NFT gifting campaigns, social mini apps, and community reward systems built directly on TON.
