Cantor Fitzgerald just took a sharper knife to Strategy MSTR, slashing its 12-month price target from $560 → $229 as the firm struggles with a tougher capital-raising environment tied to bitcoin's downturn. Even so, the new target still implies ~30% upside from current levels, and Cantor is keeping its overweight rating.

For years, Strategy’s playbook was simple and wildly effective:
Raise capital → buy more bitcoin → watch the premium expand.

But that flywheel has slowed dramatically.

Yet not all analysts are turning bearish.
Mizuho sounded more optimistic and pointed to Strategy's recent $1.44B equity raise, which now gives the company 21 months of preferred dividend coverage - a crucial breathing room that avoids selling bitcoin in a weak market.
CFO Andrew Kang reiterated the same cautious position:
No plans to refinance convertible debt until 2028

• A preference for raising capital through preferred equity, preserving BTC

• Issue new equity only when mNAV rises above 1

• Sales of Bitcoin would only occur as a last resort

In other words, Strategy seems to be repeating its 2022 playbook: halt aggressive buying during a slump, remain liquid, and wait for better conditions.
