This move, driven by frustration over the ongoing Gaza conflict, aims to advance the two-state solution and has provoked a strong reaction from Israel.
The decision by the UK holds particular symbolic significance due to its historical role in the establishment of Israel post-World War II. Other countries, including France, are expected to follow suit with similar actions at the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week.
