According to Foresight News, Jon Atack, a developer involved in Bitcoin Core and a U.S. citizen, was arrested in El Salvador following accusations related to a land dispute with a neighbor. He was accused of violating the Special Comprehensive Law for a Life Free of Violence for Women. Atack was released an hour after his arrest.
Several developers within the Bitcoin ecosystem expressed support for Atack, sharing his situation on social media. Critics, including key opinion leaders, have labeled the law as unreasonable. El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele has also faced accusations under the same legislation.
