According to ChainCatcher, the governance proposal vote to return the stolen funds recovered from hackers to Cetus is expected to pass early at 4:00 AM on May 30, Beijing time. Currently, the proposal has received a voting rate of 54.4%, with 54% in favor and only 0.3% against.

If this vote passes, the next version of Sui will include a protocol upgrade that supports one-time authentication for two special transactions. These transactions will be hard-coded to include the addresses of the two attackers, the objects of the stolen assets, and their destinations. It will verify the voting results, and if approved, will transfer the stolen funds from the attackers' addresses to the Cetus multi-signature wallet, which is signed by Cetus, the Sui Foundation, and OtterSec.
