According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on May 24, U.S. intelligence agencies are setting up a platform called the "Intelligence Community Data Alliance" to purchase private information from data brokers for intelligence work. The platform will utilize artificial intelligence tools to filter personal data, including location information, behavioral habits, and religious and political beliefs.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence acknowledged that such data could lead to extortion, tracking, harassment, and public humiliation. By purchasing commercially available information, the U.S. government can bypass the requirement for search warrants and exploit loopholes in U.S. privacy laws for surveillance.

Last year, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the "Fourth Amendment Not for Sale Act" in an attempt to prohibit the government from purchasing such commercial data, but the bill was defeated in the Senate. Such data could enable U.S. adversaries to monitor the actions of the U.S. military and intelligence personnel.
