Economist Peter Schiff comments on the impact of tariff policies on consumers

According to TechFlow, on May 19, economist Peter Schiff posted on social media that the tariff policy is aimed at prompting consumers to buy domestic products to avoid tariffs by raising the prices of imported goods.

He noted that tariffs only work if companies pass on the costs of tariffs to consumers and raise prices, and Trump cannot threaten companies for doing that.
