According to ChainCatcher, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cryptocurrency working group announced that it will hold a roundtable meeting on May 12 with the theme "Tokenization - Asset Tokenization: The Intersection of Traditional Finance and Decentralized Finance."
Hester M. Peirce, head of the SEC's cryptocurrency working group, stated that tokenization could fundamentally change many aspects of financial markets.
The meeting will be held at the SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C. from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM on May 12, Eastern Daylight Time, and will be open to the public and streamed live on the SEC's official website.
In addition, the SEC announced that the roundtable meeting titled "Decentralized Finance and the Spirit of America," originally scheduled for June 6, has been rescheduled to June 9.
