According to Cointelegraph, scammers are mailing letters to Ledger hardware wallet users, requesting them to verify their private keys to gain access to their wallets. On April 29, tech commentator Jacob Canfield shared a phishing letter disguised as Ledger on X, asking users to scan a QR code and enter their private keys. The letter threatens that failure to complete the verification may result in restricted access to wallets and funds. Ledger responded by calling the letter a scam, warning users to be vigilant against phishing attempts, and emphasizing that they will never ask for a 24-word recovery phrase. Canfield speculated that this incident is related to the Ledger data breach that occurred five years ago.
