Binance Blog published a new article, announcing the expansion of Binance Pay's services in South Africa through a partnership with Zapper. This collaboration allows over 31,000 South African merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments via Binance Pay, significantly increasing the global merchant network to more than 63,000. The initiative aims to integrate cryptocurrency into everyday transactions, supporting Binance's mission to enhance financial freedom by offering more diverse payment options.

Binance Pay is a secure, contactless, and borderless payment feature within the Binance app, enabling users to send, receive, and spend digital assets instantly without gas fees. Supporting over 400 digital assets for peer-to-peer payments and more than 100 cryptocurrencies for merchant transactions, Binance Pay offers flexibility across various currencies and use cases. With over 45 million users globally, the service facilitates a wide range of transactions, from splitting bills to booking flights. The partnership with Zapper marks a significant step in Binance Pay's global expansion, particularly in South Africa, where it aims to integrate crypto into daily routines, such as dining, shopping, and fueling vehicles.

The collaboration with Zapper, a prominent South African payment provider known for its QR code-based payment system, allows millions of South Africans to use Binance Pay at numerous locations. This includes popular chains like KFC, Wimpy, and Mugg & Bean, as well as retailers like Dis-Chem and Baby City. Users can also shop for home products at Coricraft and Yuppiechef or book flights with FlySafair. Major fuel stations, including Total and Sasol, are part of this rollout, making crypto spending versatile and accessible both online and offline. This integration not only provides users with more payment choices but also offers merchants access to a growing, tech-savvy customer base.

To celebrate the launch, Binance Pay is offering a 50% cashback promotion on transactions made at participating Zapper merchants starting September 9, 2025. This promotion encourages South African users to try crypto payments, offering a cost-effective way to experience digital asset transactions. By incentivizing early adopters, Binance Pay and Zapper aim to normalize crypto as a practical tool for everyday spending, demonstrating its utility beyond investment purposes. This development signifies a major milestone in Binance Pay's journey towards mainstream adoption, reinforcing its commitment to increasing financial freedom and empowering users to choose their preferred payment methods.
