CEO of Maple Finance Predicts Transition to Capital Markets in Blockchain
According to PANews, Sidney Powell, co-founder and CEO of Maple Finance, stated that traditional decentralized finance (DeFi) is "outdated," and that the future belongs to capital markets operating directly on blockchain. Powell emphasized that as institutions increasingly adopt on-chain trading, settlement, and clearing processes, the reliance on intermediaries and traditional Wall Street infrastructure will be reduced. He declared: "blockchain markets will replace Wall Street."
Powell noted that the initial model of the sector, focused on speculation and simple lending, will give way to a more professional financial infrastructure based on blockchain. He predicts that capital market transactions in the future will occur directly on public or permissioned blockchains, without the need for traditional brokers or investment banks.
