PI COIN RECEIVES A NEW BOOST – CORE TEAM LAUNCHES MAJOR NETWORK UPGRADE
The Pi Network team has just released Node v0.5.4, marking an important milestone in the expansion of the Pi Coin ecosystem. The update focuses on enhancing performance, fixing automatic update bugs, and improving synchronization among nodes – ensuring a more stable network operation before entering the open Mainnet phase.
According to the official announcement, the update also introduces the “Pi Desktop” interface – allowing users to easily operate nodes, mine Pi, and develop applications on the Pi App Studio platform. This is seen as an effort to enhance user experience and practical usability of the Pi ecosystem.
In addition to technical improvements, the Core Team also emphasizes the importance of expanding the utility of Pi Coin. The goal is to transform Pi from merely a mobile mining token into a DeFi platform, AI, and resource sharing through a global node network.
This move comes as the Pi network is in the process of upgrading from Testnet v19 to v22, preparing for the official Mainnet release expected in Q4/2025. Experts consider this a positive signal, helping to increase the reliability and transparency of the network.
However, the community still questions the actual operational level of the nodes and the potential commercialization of the PI token, as prices remain under pressure and liquidity is limited. Nevertheless, the new upgrade is expected to lay a solid foundation for the next boom of the Pi Network, paving the way for more practical applications and transactions in the future.
