On October 26, 2025, Beijing News——According to the Ministry of Commerce of China, Li Chenggang, Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations and Vice Minister of Commerce, stated today that the economic and trade teams of China and the United States have had in-depth, frank, and constructive discussions on multiple issues of mutual concern, and a preliminary consensus has been formed on some aspects.
It is reported that the talks lasted for more than a day, with a tense yet pragmatic atmosphere. The two sides discussed issues such as export controls, the extension of the suspension of reciprocal tariffs, expanding trade exchanges, and the U.S. 301 vessel fee measures, and engaged in constructive exchanges on several specific improvement plans.

The U.S. side still maintains a relatively tough stance on some issues, while the Chinese side remains firm in safeguarding its own interests.
