Two Years Since 7 October: Gaza / Hamas Conflict & What’s Next?

On October 7, 2025, Israel marked the second anniversary of the attack by Hamas in which approximately 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage.

Since then, peace-talks between Israel and Hamas have continued in Egypt, under the mediation of the U.S., Qatar and Egypt. A peace proposal by Donald Trump includes a structured plan involving hostage exchange, a phased Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and disarmament of Hamas.

Here’s what I’m watching closely:

Will a cease-fire agreement hold? The humanitarian crisis in Gaza remains severe, with hospitals overwhelmed and reconstruction urgent.

What role will the international community play? Countries are increasing pressure and proposals for long-term governance are emerging.

How will this impact regional stability and the global response to conflict? The ripple effects could be significant across diplomacy and aid.

💬 What do you think this means for the Middle East region? Will this be a turning point for Gaza, or another pause in a long conflict? Share your thoughts.
