The leader of AfD in Germany, Alice Weidel, says it bluntly:

"The planned chat control by the European Union is an absolutely totalitarian project. It represents the actual abolition of digital privacy."

Weidel warns that the new European regulation

"eliminates end-to-end encryption and allows for automatic analysis of all private messages, images, and videos directly on users' devices."

In other words, every citizen would remain under permanent digital suspicion, treated as a potential offender.

If approved, data protection, freedom of expression, and privacy will become relics of the past, museum pieces from a time when intimacy still existed.
