What is Sonic?

Sonic is a new layer-1 blockchain with a secure gateway to Ethereum, providing the fastest settlement layer for digital assets with the ability to process over 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) and transaction confirmation times of just one second.

Sonic is the latest step in Fantom's mission to improve the fundamentals without using other scaling solutions such as Sharding or layer-2.

Sonic does not require a hard fork and is compatible with any EVM blockchain.
