The cryptocurrency market, which had been thriving since the beginning of October, took a step back over the past 24 hours.
Bitcoin (BTC) briefly fell below $121,000, while Ethereum (ETH) and other popular altcoins recorded larger losses.
BTC heads south
The beginning of the work week saw additional gains for the leading cryptocurrency, as its price hit an all-time high of over $126,000 on October 6th. However, the bulls were unable to maintain this momentum, and the value has been on a downward trend since then.
A few hours ago, the price of Bitcoin fell to $120,700 before rising to the current level of $121,700 (according to CoinGecko data), representing a 2% decrease on a daily basis
