💥 «Ukraine loses 16 billion hryvnias annually due to untaxed crypto», — Hetmantsev.
The head of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danilo Hetmantsev, stated that the state annually loses up to 16 billion UAH because cryptocurrencies remain outside the tax field. At the same time, he reminded that even now, profits from operations with crypto assets formally fall under the income tax of 23%, regardless of the special law.
This position seems contradictory. On one hand, the state has not yet created clear rules of the game, and on the other — is already hinting at fines for “undeclared income.” As a result — a gray market where no one understands how to act legally.
While regulators argue, Ukraine is losing not only taxes but also the trust of the crypto community and investors. After all, without transparent regulation, legalization turns into another pressure.
💬 What do you think: does the state really want to legalize crypto — or is it just looking for a new source of revenue?
