According to PANews, South Korea's KB Kookmin Bank has filed a trademark application for stablecoins linked to the U.S. dollar and Japanese yen. The application, submitted on July 22, includes 27 trademark combinations that integrate the bank's brand 'KB' with currency symbols such as USD and JPY, alongside stablecoin indicators like 'ST', 'S', and 'C'. Examples of these combinations include 'USDKB', 'JPYKB', 'USDST', 'USDC', 'JPYH', and 'JPYONE'. A representative from KB Kookmin Bank stated that the registration is a proactive measure to secure trademarks in the evolving financial landscape.
