Now that August is here would like to evaluate my July trading month
Started the month strong, up +30k. Confidence was high.
Then I slipped into old habits. Fought the market, shorted when I shouldn’t, refused to cut, and martingaled my way into a -200k hole. The kind of loss that forces you to sit with yourself.
The turning point was finally accepting the hit. Once I cleared the slate, I sized down to a quarter of my normal risk and focused on execution, not revenge. Trade by trade, I rebuilt.
Closing the month +28k.
Not the smoothest equity curve, but the lessons are worth more than the PnL:
• Cut fast, never marry bias
• Size is a privilege you earn back
• Discipline > conviction
Some months pay you in money, others in lessons. This one gave me both.
