Ethereum Foundation Reveals Job Cuts and Reorganization to Enhance Scalability and Customer Interaction
The Ethereum Foundation has declared a significant restructuring plan, which includes personnel layoffs from its research and development team. The reshuffling involves rebranding its Protocol Research and Development division under a new name, "Protocol", and reorganizing its teams to concentrate on three primary areas: scaling Ethereum's base layer, expanding blob space, and enhancing user experience.
The foundation's goal is to improve transparency, strengthen technical documentation, and support ongoing research. Although specific individuals impacted by the layoffs were not named, the foundation stressed that these changes will put it on a more responsive and effective route. The restructuring is a response to criticism over the foundation's management and strategic direction, specifically unresolved technical issues such as scalability and transaction speeds.
The foundation has already seen leadership changes in an attempt to address these concerns.
