A confidential report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), reviewed by Reuters, has disclosed a significant development regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

According to the report, a portion of Iran’s highly enriched uranium — enriched up to 60%, a level considered close to weapons-grade — has been stored in an underground section of its nuclear facility in Isfahan.

This marks the first time the agency has publicly identified the specific location of such highly enriched material.

The Isfahan facility was reportedly targeted during U.S. airstrikes and throughout the recent 12-day conflict. However, diplomatic sources indicate that while parts of the site sustained heavy damage, the underground storage section where the enriched uranium is believed to be kept appears to remain structurally intact.

This development adds another layer of geopolitical sensitivity to the region, as global powers continue monitoring Iran’s nuclear activities closely.
