Most traders think they’re wrong about direction.

Open interest is the total number of active futures contracts.
It doesn’t tell you direction.
It tells you how much positioning remains open.
When price rises and open interest rises, exposure is expanding.When price falls and open interest falls, exposure is contracting.
That distinction changes everything.

If open interest expands while price stalls, leverage is building without displacement.
That structure is fragile.
If price rises while open interest contracts, the move exists — but without new participation.
It may continue.
But it isn’t structurally strong.

In the BTC analysis shared earlier, price pushed into the upper range while open interest expanded.
That signaled contract build near resistance.
When rejection came, the drop was consistent with exposure reduction.
The rebound followed once that pressure was released.
Price alone looks like volatility.Price + open interest reveals risk structure.
When translated into execution, levels come from structure.

Stop loss sits beyond the zone where your location loses structural validity.
Targets sit at liquidity magnets — not at arbitrary projections.

Entries require both:
Favorable location
And controlled exposure context
Without both, leverage becomes vulnerability.

Good location without exposure awareness is fragile.
Exposure without location awareness is dangerous.
When both align, displacement is clean.
When they don’t, positioning gets cleared first.

And that’s where most traders disappear.
