In a major move, VanEck tokenized fund VBILL has gone live on major blockchain networks such as Solana, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Avalanche.
The multi-chain launch milestone was achieved through a partnership with Securitize, a leading tokenization platform.
VanEck Treasury Fund VBILL provides investors with real-time access to U.S. Treasury-backed assets with enhanced security and transparency.
"By bringing US Treasuries on-chain, we are providing investors with a secure, transparent, and liquid tool for cash management, further integrating digital assets into mainstream financial markets," said Kyle D'Cruz, director of digital assets at VanEck.
VanEck Launches VBILL on Solana, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche
In a recent press release, VanEck announced the launch of its first tokenized fund (VBILL) on multiple blockchain networks.
Leveraging the potential of blockchain, the asset manager plans to revolutionize investment access and flexibility in the short-term U.S. Treasury sector.
According to reports, the VanEck tokenized fund is now live on Avalanche, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Solana. Wormhole’s cross-chain interoperability enables seamless and secure token transfers between these networks.
By combining Securitize's services such as tokenization, fund administration, transfer agency, and broker-dealer capabilities, VBILL is expected to increase market access, liquidity, and operational efficiency for investors.
DaCruz quoted, “Tokenized funds like VBILL are increasing market liquidity and efficiency, demonstrating our commitment to delivering value to our investors.”
It's worth noting that VanEck's VBILL launch on the BNB chain coincides with the growing BNB ETF craze. Recently, the asset manager filed an S-1 form to launch its first-ever BNB ETF.
VBILL to Drive Innovation Through Tokenization
Specifically, the VanEck crypto fund is poised to revolutionize the tokenization of real-world assets, offering improved liquidity and accessibility.
In an X post, Securitize wrote, "VBILL is a blockchain-native alternative to money market funds:
This US Treasury-backed fund unlocks 24/7 liquidity, real-time settlement, and institutional-grade infrastructure. A milestone in bringing real-world assets on-chain."
Further, commenting on the collaboration with VanEk, Carlos Domingo, co-founder of Securitize added,
The collaboration combines Securitize's best-in-class fully integrated tokenization model with VanEck's deep asset management expertise. Together with VBILL, our joint efforts demonstrate the potential of tokenization to create new market opportunities with the speed, transparency and programmability of blockchain technology.
Notably, this development comes amid the US SEC's growing discussions on tokenization.
